Wellness Is a Daily Practice
At Mountain View Resort, we believe wellness isn't something you do once a year on retreat — it's a daily practice. Small, consistent habits can create profound changes in how you feel, think, and live.
Here are five wellness practices our retreat facilitators swear by, and how you can start incorporating them today.
1. Morning Mindful Breathing (5 Minutes)
Before reaching for your phone, sit quietly and take ten deep breaths. Inhale for four counts, hold for four, exhale for six. This simple practice activates your parasympathetic nervous system and sets a calm tone for the day.
2. Grounding Walks
Walk barefoot on grass, soil, or sand for 10-15 minutes daily. Studies suggest grounding reduces inflammation, improves sleep, and lowers stress hormones.
3. Digital Sunset
Turn off all screens one hour before bed. Replace the habit with reading, journaling, or gentle stretching. You'll sleep deeper and wake more refreshed.
4. Gratitude Journaling
Write down three things you're grateful for each evening. This practice rewires your brain to notice the positive, improving overall life satisfaction.
5. Body Scan Relaxation
Before sleep, mentally scan your body from head to toe, releasing tension in each area. This takes just 5 minutes and dramatically improves sleep quality.
Wellness is not a destination — it's a journey of small, intentional steps taken every day.
